Mark Hines is known for his fabulous and expert work with glass, metal and hot ovens.
Slumped glass is fired over sand to create texture, form, and designs in glass. After firing, colored enamels are applied to the textures and fired again to fused them to the glass. Finally, the piece is completed with a wrought iron stand for a look that will enhance any home for years to come!
About the artist: Mark Hines was born and raised in Southern California. Although Mark is basically a self-taught artist, early in his career he studied Glass Design and Ceramics at USC. In 1976 he began working with stained glass. From there he progressed to ceramics and in particular, Raku vases. Mark has returned to his first love, glass and has enjoyed great success. Mark's designs have been shown in Architectural Digest and his pieces are in collections worldwide.
